Amazon is a leading e-commerce company committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for its employees. As part of this commitment, we are seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will serve as the site's designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Program. This individual will be responsible for partnering with the Operations Team at the site level to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local, regional, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional and federal regulations and company policy. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies.
  • Performance Measurement: Measure site's performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Drive accountability for the plan.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest. Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify all non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other sites.
  • Training and Development: Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHS training.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
