Health and Safety Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Operations Specialist to join our team at Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited. This is a challenging role that requires a strong understanding of health and safety principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing on-site coaching and guidance to operations personnel on health and safety best practices;
- Assisting sites with the execution of health and safety improvement plans and identifying areas for improvement;
- Working closely with management teams to ensure the implementation and ongoing improvement of health and safety systems within operations;
- Participating in the effective communication and execution of programs associated with the Health and Safety Management System;
- Couching site personnel on their responsibilities related to health and safety, particularly hazard recognition and control, risk assessment, and application of the hierarchy of controls;
- Assisting in the development of safe work processes for industrial, aggregate, and construction projects with a focus on high-risk activities;
- Providing on-site support in conducting incident investigations and ensuring timely reporting;
- Assisting with action tracking and follow-up for health and safety audit action plans to ensure all items have been completed effectively and on time;
