Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Metal Fabricator to join our team at JKM Custom Fabricating Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Determine the materials required for various fabrication projects.
  2. Interpret engineering drawings and other instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.
  3. Lay out reference points and patterns for metal fabrication.
  4. Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently.
  5. Study engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
  6. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
  7. Weld or bolt sections together to create complex metal components.
  8. Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines to fabricate metal parts.
  9. Install fabricated components in final products.
  10. Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.
  11. Apply various welding techniques, including MIG, FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
  12. Operate equipment such as brakes and presses, cutting torches, drills, grinders, shears, saws, and welding equipment.
  13. Use hand tools to assemble and fit components.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in structural metal fabrication.
  • High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with exposure to heavy machinery and hazardous materials. The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is required.
