Salary

The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement, dependent on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ. The estimated annual salary range is $180,000 - $250,000, plus a generous annual allowance to cover continued medical education expenses and paid time off to attend events including international conferences.

Job Description

This role involves providing addiction medicine services to patients with alcohol and drug use disorder, especially those with significant co-existing health disorders or opioid dependency. The successful applicant will join a supportive multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience assessing and managing medical complications of addictive disorders and implementing treatments in addiction environments
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current research, treatments, and guidelines relating to major addiction mental health issues
  • Eligibility for an Annual Practicing Certificate and Vocational Registration of Psychiatry, or equivalent with the Medical Council of New Zealand
