Job Description:

We are seeking a Customer Support Advisor - Material Handling to join our team at Brandt in Saskatoon. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling material handling parts and service, as well as providing after sales support to existing and new customers.

The ideal candidate will have a journeyman ticket as a heavy-duty mechanic or parts person, previous sales experience in the material handling industry, and strong time management and people skills. They must also be able to travel within the territory and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and cold call new accounts to discuss promotions and incentives.
  • Assure good working relationships with customers by communicating regularly on current service, new products, and new promotions.
  • Visit customers in Area of Responsibility (AOR) a minimum of 1 visit per month.
  • Develop prospective customers with a goal of 2 per month.
  • Increase parts and service sales and provide Material Handling sales leads to the Material Handling sales team.
  • Implement yearly territory plan including a customer target list.
  • Maintain and utilize database records related to each customer.
  • Work cooperatively with management to meet and maximize budget goals and expand customer base by presenting new marketing strategies.
  • Maintain control of inventory in the company vehicle.
  • Follow up all customer complaints and communicate effectively.
  • Participate in training to increase knowledge.
  • Maintain cleanliness and scheduled maintenance of company vehicle.
  • Assist parts counter personnel with quotes, orders, deliveries, returns, and inventory control.
  • Supply competitive product and pricing information to Parts Manager.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman ticket as a heavy-duty mechanic or parts person.
  • Previous sales experience in the material handling industry.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours.
  • Valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract required.
  • Positive and professional attitude to internal and external challenges.
  • Understanding of specialized material handling equipment and industry.
  • Strong time management and people skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions under pressure.
  • Proficient skills with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel).

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
