About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to join our team, responsible for managing our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow. As a key member of our IT team, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate information about our IT hardware and software assets, ensuring seamless reporting and decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our CMDB in ServiceNow, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop and implement data reporting and analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Technical Service Owners and Subject Matter Experts to build relationships between assets and ensure the accuracy of Configuration Items (CIs) within the CMDB.
  • Assist in conducting configuration audits and coordinate with Technical Service Owners to correct issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Work with the Configuration Management team to prepare the Configuration management plan.
  • Collaborate with IT Owners and Change Management to assess the impact of changes on Configuration Items.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including service mappings.
  • 3+ years of experience in data reporting with ServiceNow CMDB, Asset Management & Service Catalogue.
  • 2+ years of experience in performing audits of hardware, configuration items, as needed to maintain accuracy within the CMDB.
  • Strong analytical skills to review Discovery patterns and payloads; manage subnets, monitor discovery schedules, maintain discovery schedules and dates.
  • Expert level in the use of MS Excel to create/maintain macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP & formulas.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and attention to detail skills.
  • Familiarity with Discovery related technologies, such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Secure Shell protocol (SSH), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and REST/RESTful APIs.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
