We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Jacobs & Company Steakhouse. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled cook who is passionate about delivering exceptional food experiences.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of meals, leading a team of cooks, and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene in the kitchen.

This is a permanent position working 30-44 hours per week, with a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

As a Sous Chef at Jacobs & Company Steakhouse, you will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to the cooking staff;
  • Create new recipes and menus to showcase our culinary expertise;
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food;
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe food production;
  • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods to order;
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed;
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food;
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience as a line cook or sous chef;
  • A strong understanding of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food safety, and inventory management;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team;
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience;
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays;
