We are seeking a skilled Emergency Physician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our emergency department.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
You will be working in a fast-paced emergency department environment, providing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions. You will be part of a team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
Qualifications- College of Family Physicians of Canada Emergency Medicine certification would be considered an asset
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Clinical Competence in the Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) certification
- Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Emergency department experience an asset
