Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Leader to join our team at Tricon Residential as a Corporate Reporting Manager. This is a leadership role that requires a strong understanding of finance, operations, and accounting, as well as excellent leadership and mentorship skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to senior accountants, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Financial Reporting: Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations for income-producing business segments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Internal Reporting: Oversee the internal monthly reporting process, reviewing and analyzing financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of financial statements for private investors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Financial Analysis: Review analytical financial reports to assist with month-end variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Accounting Guidance: Research and provide guidance on industry standards and accounting matters, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Internal Controls: Enforce proper internal controls, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate with executive/senior management on special projects, as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: University degree in Finance, Commerce (or relevant field) and CPA certification.
  • Experience: 4+ years of manager and/or leadership experience, with Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Yardi, and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV, as well as residential real estate experience.
