Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care.
  • Ensure the safekeeping and control of medications and narcotics, and follow established protocols.
  • Create a comfortable and safe environment that promotes resident dignity, autonomy, and independence.
  • Optimize each resident's potential to achieve or maintain maximum functional ability.
  • Seek direction from the RN when resident needs exceed your experience or scope of practice.
  • Exercise sound nursing judgment by reporting any changes in resident status to the RN and taking appropriate action.
  • Foster an atmosphere that promotes optimal care and effective functioning of the care unit through collaboration with other team members.
  • Liaise with medical team members to ensure effective clinical care for all residents.
  • Continuously assess your own nursing practice and learning needs.
  • Participate in in-service programs and attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance your skills.
  • Document priorities, target dates, and strategies or interventions on the individualized care plan to achieve the best possible outcomes for each resident.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Practical Nursing.
  • Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
  • Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS.
  • Current First Aid with CPR.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Long Term Care Experience.
