Service Advisor Role Overview

At Downtown AutoGroup, we are seeking a highly skilled Service Advisor to join our team. As a Service Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our guests receive exceptional service and support throughout their vehicle ownership journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service, responding to customer inquiries, and providing clear explanations of services and repairs required.
  • Work Order Management: Create accurate and detailed work orders, authorizing repairs, and coordinating vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaboration with Technicians: Liaise with service technicians to clarify service recommendations and technical details, ensuring all necessary repairs are completed.
  • Sales and Upselling: Identify opportunities for upselling and increasing repair orders, offering additional services that enhance the vehicle's performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Customer Retention: Foster long-term relationships with customers by providing exceptional service, ensuring customer satisfaction, and following up after the service.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a service advisor role, preferably within an automotive dealership or service center environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, vehicle maintenance, and service requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical information to customers.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building positive, long-term customer relationships.
  • Sales Skills: Ability to identify opportunities for upselling and increasing repair orders.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, appointments, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
