**Job Overview**

Alterna Savings is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Expert to join our team. This role involves ensuring the prompt and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee expense claims, as well as providing guidance and coaching to newer team members.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • We are looking for someone who can ensure that all incoming vendor invoices and employee expense claims are processed and paid in a timely manner.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of internal controls and be able to apply them effectively.
  • They will also provide training and support to junior team members, sharing their expertise and experience to help them grow professionally.
  • In addition, they will participate in finance operations projects and periodic reviews of processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

**Requirements**

  • A university degree or college diploma in Accounting, or 3 years of equivalent experience in an Accounts Payable department.
  • Strong general knowledge of Accounting, specifically as it relates to Accounts Payables and Accruals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues independently.
  • High level of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
