Aquatic Program Coordinator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lifeguard/Swim Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing safety and supervision to all members, instructing swim lessons, and performing cleaning duties and tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safety and supervision to all members
- Instruct swim lessons according to the YMCA Swim Program
- Perform cleaning duties and tasks as required
- Assist in the training and supervision of aquatic volunteers
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the aquatic facility
- Assist with the delivery of aquatic programs and special events
- Work as a team with other lifeguard/instructors to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming facility
Requirements:
- Current Standard First Aid certificate
- CPR level C and AED certificate
- National Lifeguard - Pool Option
- Swim Instructor certification or equivalent
- Experience as a Lifeguard or Swimming Instructor - preferred
- YMCA Aquatic Fitness Certificate, or equivalent – preferred
- Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) or equivalent
- Aquatic related certifications from a recognized certifying body - preferred
- High-school, must have completed Grade 10. Must be at least 16 years of age
- Access to reliable transportation or a vehicle
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
- 3 professional references
