Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $38,160, based on 26 hours of work per week and an hourly wage of approximately $19.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to manage our post office in Victoria Beach. As a Postmaster, you will be responsible for:

  1. Liaising with the local community to promote and sell Canada Post services;
  2. Selling and promoting postal products and services to the public and businesses;
  3. Providing suitable premises for the post office within 30 days of appointment;
  4. Administering the post office to meet retail hours of operation and delivery expectations;
  5. Managing postal revenue, assets, and values;
  6. Maintaining records and preparing reports;
  7. Assisting with effective management of mail delivery routes;
  8. Sorting mail to postal boxes;
  9. Keeping the post office clean and presentable, meeting Canada Post's standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or provincial equivalency, and/or experience in business administration;
  • Owned or leased premises available one month prior to the date of hire, which must be fully accessible to persons with disabilities;
  • Experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions;
  • Knowledge of regulations, methods, and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services;
  • Physical fitness to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, and sort mail while standing for extended periods of time.
