Assistant Professor of English and Indigenous Literatures

Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team at the First Nations University of Canada. The successful candidate will teach a variety of introductory and senior undergraduate courses in English and Indigenous Literatures from an Indigenous perspective.
About the Position:
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or near completion) in English with a focus on Indigenous literatures and creative writing. They will be expected to instruct courses that promote Indigenous protocols and working with Elders and communities, as well as participate in university committee service.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct introductory and senior undergraduate courses in English and Indigenous Literatures from an Indigenous perspective.
- Develop and implement curriculum that promotes Indigenous protocols and working with Elders and communities.
- Participate in university committee service and contribute to the development of Indigenous programs and services.
Requirements:
- PhD (or near completion) in English with a focus on Indigenous literatures and creative writing.
- Experience working, teaching, or living in a First Nations environment and ability to speak a First Nations language is an asset.
- Excellent research and publication record, as well as an established teaching record.
