Assistant Professor of English and Indigenous Literatures

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team at the First Nations University of Canada. This is a unique opportunity to teach and conduct research in English and Indigenous Literatures, with a focus on Indigenous protocols and community engagement.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for instructing undergraduate courses in English and Indigenous Literatures, with a focus on Indigenous perspectives and protocols. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in English with a focus on Indigenous literatures and creative writing, and will have experience working with Indigenous communities and protocols.
Responsibilities- Instruct undergraduate courses in English and Indigenous Literatures
- Develop and implement curriculum that reflects Indigenous perspectives and protocols
- Engage with Indigenous communities and Elders to develop and maintain relationships
- Participate in university committee service and contribute to the development of Indigenous programs and services
- PhD in English with a focus on Indigenous literatures and creative writing
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and protocols
- Established teaching record and research experience
- Ability to speak a First Nations language is an asset
