Assistant Professor English and Indigenous Literatures One-Year Term Position
About the Role:The First Nations University of Canada invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to be located at the Regina campus. This position will appeal to those who enjoy teaching from an Indigenous perspective in an intimate and interactive class setting with a strong commitment to research and community service within Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruct introductory and senior undergraduate courses in English and Indigenous Literatures from an Indigenous perspective.
- Develop and maintain a research program that contributes to the field of Indigenous literatures and creative writing.
- Participate in university committee service and contribute to the development of Indigenous protocols and working with Elders and communities.
- PhD (or near completion) in English with a focus on Indigenous literatures and creative writing.
- Established teaching record and excellence in research and publication.
- Experience working, teaching, or living in a First Nations environment and ability to speak a First Nations language is an asset.
