Job Title: Payroll Team Lead

Hydro One Networks Inc is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the payroll team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, and providing guidance and support to payroll specialists and clerks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate payroll exits and pre-work with the Time & Attendance team to deliver pay runs accurately and on time.
  • Execute batch jobs for pay exits and support day-to-day payroll activities such as case management, overpayment analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Run required audit reports throughout payroll processing and approve manual cheques and GL entries.
  • Manage the training of new payroll specialists and clerks and provide guidance and support to the team.
  • First point of contact for escalated payroll inquiries and escalate complex payroll inquiries to the Payroll Supervisor as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Requires a knowledge of accounting and payroll principles related to payroll processing.
  • Requires a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation.
  • Requires good oral and writing skills to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts and prepare reports.
  • Requires experience in payroll processing, payment distribution, payroll tax reporting, remittances, and account reconciliation.
  • Requires experience in a supervisory capacity and experience with business processes to understand the various collective agreements.
  • Requires experience with SAP systems or SuccessFactors Employee Central and demonstrated experience with the use of Word and Excel.
