Job Summary

The City of Brandon is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Truck Mechanic Apprentice - Level 1. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and grow with our organization while developing a rewarding career in the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing and repairing a variety of light and heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction to develop skills and knowledge in truck and transport mechanics
  • Develop strong communication and teamwork skills while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Meet the requirements for Journeyperson Certification in the Truck & Transport Mechanic trade

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Class 5 driver's license with a willingness to obtain a Class 3 with air endorsement license within six months
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
