Job Summary

The City of Brandon is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Truck Mechanic Apprentice - Level 1. This is an exciting opportunity to start a career in the transportation industry and work towards becoming a certified heavy vehicle technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced mechanics in diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Learn and apply industry-standard repair techniques and procedures
  • Develop skills in vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repair
  • Participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction
  • Work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Class 5 driver's license (obtain Class 3 with air endorsement within six months)
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
