Job Summary

Maxim Truck and Trailer is seeking a skilled Transportation Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet of transportation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Mechanical Units: Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify faults and malfunctions in transportation equipment.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Perform repairs and maintenance on transportation equipment, including adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components as needed.
  • Perform Scheduled Maintenance: Complete scheduled maintenance services to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our fleet.
  • Record Problems and Work Performed: Maintain accurate records of problems encountered and work performed on transportation equipment.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors: Work closely with supervisors to determine the best course of action for repairs and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Possess a Registered Apprenticeship certificate and 5 years or more of experience in the transportation equipment industry, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Hold a Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification and a Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement.
  • Apprenticeship Training: Have completed Level four and Level five apprenticeship training.
  • Area of Specialization: Possess expertise in diagnostics and truck-trailer repair.
  • Transportation and Travel: Be willing to relocate for this position and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the job.
  • Tools and Equipment: Possess the necessary tools and equipment to perform the duties of the job.
