Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of residents' needs and develop, revise, and implement resident care profiles.
- Order, administer, and store medications and treatments in compliance with facility, pharmacy, and College of Nurses standards.
- Adopt and enforce legislation and mandates under the direction of the Director of Care.
- Manage the department in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager, including staffing, equipment breakdown, supply ordering, and receiving.
- Direct, assign, and evaluate the work of personal support attendants.
- Assist in the orientation of residents, family, and nursing staff.
- Document and investigate resident/staff incidents and complaints, and follow up with the Supervisor or Manager promptly.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Practical Nursing and current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Passion for working with seniors and experience working with the elderly in a seniors' living or long-term care environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to provide a current CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification and a Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
