Job Summary

Lakeridge Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Perinatal Care team. As a key member of our Labour and Delivery unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to new mothers and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in cross-training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety and quality improvement within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Completion of a Perinatal Course or equivalent experience.
  • Current BCLS and NRP certification.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Level II or III Birthing Suite.
  • Competency in advanced fetal monitoring, epidural/spinal pain management, and induction/augmentation of labour with oxytocin.
  • Experience in the scrub and circulating role for Caesarean births or enrolled in a Perioperative nursing course.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards.
  • Effective organizational, problem-solving, and teaching skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment, good observation, and patient assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume a leadership/supervisory role.
