About the Role

DNEG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grooming Technical Director to join our Build department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating believable hair, fur, and feather grooms for characters and creatures on high-end VFX film projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement high-quality grooming techniques and tools
  • Collaborate with Creature TDs, Modelling, Lookdev, and CFX teams to ensure seamless workflow
  • Provide technical support and training to production teams
  • Participate in tools, pipeline, and workflow meetings
  • Maintain documentation for tools development and studio protocols

Requirements

  • Proven production experience on high-end VFX feature films
  • Experience with proprietary or third-party grooming tools (Houdini preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in grooming software, such as Houdini, Yeti, XGen
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
