DNEG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grooming Technical Director to join our Build department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating believable hair, fur, and feather grooms for characters and creatures on high-end VFX film projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement high-quality grooming techniques and tools to achieve realistic results.
  • Collaborate with the Modelling, Lookdev, and CFX teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality work.
  • Provide technical support and training to production teams as needed.
  • Participate in tools, pipeline, and workflow meetings to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Maintain documentation for tools development and studio protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in high-end VFX feature films, with a strong focus on grooming and character creation.
  • Expertise in proprietary or third-party grooming tools, with a preference for Houdini.
  • Experience in tool creation and development in Houdini.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen sense of artistic direction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of your work.
  • Experience meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
