About the Role:

The Database Systems Specialist will be responsible for installing and configuring database management systems (DBMS) and related tools. This includes implementing and maintaining database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Installation and Configuration: Install and configure database management systems (DBMS) and related tools.
  • Database Security: Implement and maintain database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Database Maintenance: Create and manage database backups and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Database Performance: Monitor database performance and optimize system resources.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy and consistency through regular integrity checks.
  • Database Scheduling: Schedule and perform database maintenance tasks.
  • User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access levels to databases.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve database-related issues in collaboration with teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 6+ years of working experience in a similar role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Skills: Experience in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Skills: Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance metrics analysis.
