We are seeking an exceptional Software Test and Validation Specialist to join our Engineering team at FLIR Systems, Inc. in Laval, Quebec.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel in making a lasting impact and thrive in fast-paced environments.

About the Role

As a member of our software and system team, you will play a pivotal part in developing, extending, and automating tests used to validate the functionalities of our embedded software and PC applications.

You will collaborate closely with software developers and system specialists to define test and validation scopes, scenarios, and automation frameworks.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement unit and integration tests for embedded software and PC applications.
  2. Develop and maintain programs that validate system performances of target detection, tracking, and classification algorithms.
  3. Create automated test tools and sequences for embedded software, PC applications, and system validation.
  4. Organize and generate automatic test and validation reports.
  5. Participate in software build preparation, validation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  6. Contribute to software quality assurance activities, including configuration management, release, and tests.

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in automated test strategy and writing functional tests, system tests, validation tests, and integration tests.
  • Strong C/C++ development skills.
  • Experience with Python and/or Matlab.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual ability to work in a French-speaking environment and working knowledge of English (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in algorithm development, signal processing, and/or scientific programming.
  • Experience in embedded software development with Linux O/S.
  • Knowledge of XML protocols.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, e.g., Git, SVN, JIRA.

In this role, you will be eligible for certification to examine, possess, and transfer items under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
