We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Leader to join our dynamic team at BE Power Equipment. This role is responsible for the overall execution and management of several key strategic accounts, ensuring timely sourcing and renewals of critical parts.

Job Summary

This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for managing a portfolio of large and complex strategic accounts and contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of purchasing functions in a many-to-many manufacturing operation and experience with ERP/MRP systems.

The Strategic Procurement Leader will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and specifications, providing guidance and expertise to the Purchasing Team as needed. This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage shifting priorities and deliverables from multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage a portfolio of large and complex strategic accounts and contracts, including critical part management with timely sourcing and renewals.
  2. Assist the Supply Chain Manager in developing supply chain strategies to reduce costs and achieve established budget targets.
  3. Proactively work with vendors to mitigate price increases, negotiate fair pricing terms, ensure quality standards are met, and goods/services are received on time.
  4. Monitor supplier performance, consisting of managing discrepancies and errors, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions.
  5. Proactively communicate challenges, roadblocks, issues, and potential disruptions that may negatively impact production and overall company performance.
  6. Conduct and coordinate pre-bid meetings, facilitate onsite tours while representing BE's best interests.
  7. Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including RFP/RFQ preparation, bid evaluations, and preparation of contract documents for review and approval.
  8. Prepare, process, and provide recommendations on contract change orders.
  9. Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains favorable, preventing production backlogs and manufacturing delays.
  10. Work closely with internal stakeholders and understand their requirements and specifications.
  11. Provide guidance and expertise to the Purchasing Team as needed.
  12. Research and identify potential suppliers of goods and services required in our environment.
  13. Lead the sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, procurement, and delivery of materials/services required for your portfolio of accounts.
  14. Purchase goods and/or services that meet the quantity, quality, cost, inventory requirements, and lead time expectations of the organization.
  15. Perform transactional purchasing duties, such as preparing and issuing purchasing orders, tracking and maintaining inventory accuracy of SKUs and supplies, filing warranty claims with vendors, and reporting various KPIs.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of Purchasing experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  2. Understanding of purchasing functions in a many-to-many manufacturing operation.
  3. Completion of post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  4. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) is a strong asset.
  5. Experienced user of ERP/MRP systems (SysPro an asset).
  6. Experience with the competitive bid process.
  7. Knowledge and experience working with freight carriers.
  8. Up-to-date understanding of the commodity marketplace.
Benefits
