Job Summary

This senior-level procurement position offers a competitive salary of $80K-$100K, dependent on skills and experience, plus a comprehensive benefit package with premiums 100% paid by the company. We also provide opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of large and complex strategic accounts and contracts, including critical part management, timely sourcing, and renewals.
  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager in developing supply chain strategies to reduce costs and achieve established budget targets.
  • Proactively work with vendors to mitigate price increases, negotiate fair pricing terms, ensure quality standards are met, and goods/services are received on time.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage discrepancies and errors, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions, seek out alternate suppliers when needed.
  • Proactively communicate challenges, roadblocks, issues, and potential disruptions that may negatively impact production and overall company performance.
  • Conduct and coordinate pre-bid meetings, facilitate onsite tours while representing the company's best interests.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including RFP/RFQ preparation, bid evaluations, and preparation of contract documents for review and approval.
  • Prepare, process, and provide recommendations on contract change orders.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains favorable, preventing production backlogs and manufacturing delays.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and understand their requirements and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to the Purchasing Team as needed.
  • Research and identify potential suppliers of goods and services required in our environment.
  • Lead the sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, procurement, and delivery of materials/services required for your portfolio of accounts.
  • Purchase goods and/or services that meet quantity, quality, cost, inventory requirements, and lead time expectations of the organization.
  • Perform transactional purchasing duties, including preparing and issuing purchasing orders, tracking and maintaining inventory accuracy of SKU's and supplies, filing warranty claims with vendors, reporting of various KPI's, and maintaining and updating records using the ERP system.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of purchasing functions in a 'many-to-many' manufacturing operation.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) certification is a strong asset.
  • Experienced user of ERP/MRP systems, particularly SysPro.
  • Experience with the competitive bid process.
  • Knowledge and experience working with freight carriers.
  • Up-to-date understanding of the commodity marketplace.
