Job Summary

Roquette Frères S.A. is a leading global company in plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Chief Power Engineer to join our team in a key role that requires expertise in power generation, industrial maintenance, and utilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Acting Deputy Chief Engineer in carrying out Class 2 Power Engineer responsibilities and supporting the Chief Engineer in maintenance systems operations.
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ancillary systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of boiler failures, water production, and wastewater monitoring systems.
  • Assist with team supervision and operation of maintenance and control of Chiller equipment, refrigerated glycol, and low- and high-pressure steam systems.
  • Participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry Permits and perform assigned responsibilities during plant evacuations.
  • Ensure compliance with all HACCP procedures, food-grade water, steam, and refrigerated fluid in chiller.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all monitored equipment and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 2 Power Engineer license.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment, with experience in operating large utilities facilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and ability to make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a safety-conscious mindset and high degree of self-discipline.
  • Ability to work under extreme conditions, climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and work at heights and inside confined spaces.
  • Must be available for shift work as needed and provide off-shift support to the Utilities Supervisor.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced industrial environment, with exposure to hot, wet, and cold conditions. The role requires the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and with personal protective equipment.
