Job Summary

Roquette Frères S.A. is a leading global company in plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Chief Power Engineer to join our team in a key role that requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Acting Deputy Chief Engineer in carrying out Class 2 Power Engineer responsibilities and supporting the Chief Engineer in maintenance systems operations.
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ancillary systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and collaborate with Shift Supervisors, Process Engineers, and maintenance personnel to achieve production targets.
  • Act as a supervisor in the absence of the Acting Deputy Chief Engineer, leading team shift huddles, scheduling, work assessments, and attending meetings.
  • Troubleshoot boiler failures, water production, and wastewater compliance issues, determining work requirements and reporting deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all HACCP procedures, food-grade water, steam, and refrigerated fluid in chiller systems.
  • Maintain accurate logs of monitored equipment and participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry Permits.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities during plant evacuations due to fire and gas.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions, and assist in the development of energy control procedures and safe work practices.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 2 Power Engineer license.
  • 5-7 years' experience in industrial manufacturing environments, with a focus on utilities facilities, power distribution, steam generation, vacuum systems, compressed air systems, and water distribution systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under extreme conditions and use personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and work at heights and in confined spaces.
