Job Description:

We are seeking a Housing Support Specialist to join our team at Native Counselling Services of Alberta. The successful candidate will work with clients in urban areas, providing housing support services and connecting them with community resources.

About the Role:

This is an on-site position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be organized, and have a strong understanding of social issues affecting Indigenous peoples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients individually, in families, or in groups to assess their situation and problems
  • Perform administrative tasks related to client services
  • Refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment, and other services

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • College certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Will train in all aspects of the job
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle (an asset)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Tight deadlines and attention to detail required
