Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Leader to oversee the real estate portfolio, ensure strategic alignment with business objectives, and lead the real estate team in executing transactions, managing assets, and developing real estate strategies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate leadership and be able to lead a team to complete a deal from requirement through lease execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain real estate strategies that support long-term business objectives, including proactive discussion with business leadership around long-term strategies and direction.
  • Effectively communicate the financial impacts of real estate decisions in business terms.
  • Manage our outsourced property service partner in performing a large volume and variety of real estate transaction projects.
  • Ensure timely action is taken on real estate critical dates (renewals, expirations and terminations).
  • Develop and present relevant real estate portfolio reporting to senior management and provide regular status reporting to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and implement real estate plans with an understanding of GHD's strategic real estate goals.
  • Adhere to GHD's real estate and corporate policies relating to identifying and mitigating potential conflicts of interest.
  • Develop business justification and recommendations for presentation to GHD senior management and executive team.
  • Review and update real estate best practices and enhancements to the real estate database that will improve the quality of real estate delivery.
  • Develop benchmarking standards and key metrics and update periodically.
  • Ensure effective communication and integration across all real estate functions and with internal and external customers.
  • Manage any refurbishments, renovations and office moves to ensure they run smoothly and according to plan.
  • Liaise with Regional Operations Managers or equivalent in relation to facilities management issues.
  • Work with finance teams in developing capital budget requirements and ongoing reporting.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of real estate leasing practices.
  • Ability to work independently, assess priorities and manage a variety of activities while collaborating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop good working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Understands how to review, analyze and interpret financial analysis templates including cash flow projections and NPV analyses.
  • Be well-organized, detail-oriented and have strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent customer and client management skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting standards relating to corporate real estate.
