About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Advisor to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating security risks to our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Advise and support our team in developing and implementing effective security controls and protocols.
  • Develop and implement key risk metrics and indicators to measure and report information-related risks.
  • Identify and classify risks, and propose risk mitigation or remediation strategies.
  • Analyze risks associated with various options and propose a security solution that balances potential losses and costs.
  • Identify gaps in IT compliance controls and oversee the documentation, implementation, and testing of our IT compliance control portfolio.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and propose the introduction of new security practices and technologies when beneficial.
  • Perform or coordinate application security tests for project teams.
  • Interpret the results of application security tests and inform development teams on application security development standards, methods, and tools.

Requirements

  • University degree in information security or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity, devops, or infrastructure teams.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in information technology, specifically in information technology security.
  • Experience working with a SIEM such as Microsoft Sentinel and Google.
  • Experience in SOAR automation.
  • Experience in User and Entity Behavior Analysis (UEBA).
  • In-depth understanding of Kafka.
  • Understanding of Linux terminal.
  • Security certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of application security principles and practices.
  • Strong and practical knowledge of Cloud environment in terms of Security risk and tools available in AWS or other cloud environment.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps - CI/CD environment.
  • Good understanding of common security gaps in data and cloud applications and of operating techniques from sources such as SANS, OWASP Top 10 and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA).
  • Good understanding of common security gaps in data/AI applications.
  • Team player with good collaboration skills.
  • Strong ethical principles and understanding of business and information security ethics.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
