Electrical Designer

We're looking for a skilled Electrical Designer to join our Transportation team in Markham, ON.
As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for preparing detailed designs for transportation electrical systems using AutoCAD and/or Microstation. You will conduct detailed calculations, perform lighting analysis, and design electrical layouts for cable raceways/underground conduits, lighting, panel schedules, and more. You will also coordinate with designers and engineers from other disciplines and perform site visits and contract administration.
Requirements:
- An Engineering degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited University.
- Minimum of (4) years continuous experience in detailed design and design consultancy.
- Knowledge of IES-RP-8 and Roadway lighting and Parking lot lighting.
- Knowledge of OPSD, OPSS, TAC, and OTM manuals would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in Transportation and Transit projects is a must.
- Experience with advanced lighting design tools (AGi32) would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and SPIDACalc.
- Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (CSA, OBC, NFPA, AREMA, and IEEE standards).
- Experience with electrical design tools/software such as ETAP and SKM would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of electrical calculations (short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, arc flash, cable sizing, and lighting design) would be considered an asset.
