Job Summary

Parsons is seeking an Electrical Designer to join their Markham office in Ontario. As a key member of the civil infrastructure group, you will work on projects involving roadways, bridges, transitways, and municipal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for roadways and transportation infrastructure
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements
  • Perform lighting calculations, loading calculations, and short circuit calculations using AGI software
  • Generate one-line diagrams, traffic signals, and electrical details
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals, and perform site observations
  • Coordinate with electrical contractors and provide professional field support during construction phases

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Proficient in current electrical engineering theories and practices
  • Professional Engineer registration is desired
  • Experience with MTO and other municipal agencies in Ontario is desired

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in AGI32 lighting design software
  • Experience with voltage drop calculations, short circuit calculations, and arc flash analysis
  • Strong background in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office
