About the Role

At EXP, we're seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team in Markham, ON. As an Electrical Designer, you'll be responsible for producing design packages, including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts, and schedules, under the supervision of senior engineers or project managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of senior engineers or project managers, produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts, and schedules.
  • Under the supervision of senior electrical engineers or project managers, prepare concept reports, meeting minutes, specification, and contract administration documents.
  • Conduct site surveys for existing conditions when required.
  • Carry out electrical calculations as required for the systems.
  • Obtain information on equipment from suppliers and select equipment with input from senior designers.
  • Attend site meetings during construction with a senior staff member.
  • Contribute to all aspects of system-level design and assist with other general tasks when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 1-3 years of engineering consulting experience.
  • AutoCAD/REVIT experience required and MicroStation is proficiency desired.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, products).
