**Job Summary**

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Treatment Intake Counsellor to join our team. As a Counsellor, you will work with individuals struggling with substance addictions, homelessness, and poverty issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct group discussions and provide support to clients.
  • Assess client needs and develop individualized plans.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and training on life skills and substance abuse prevention.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of community college in a related field.
  • One year of related experience in social services.
  • Ability to conduct group discussions and provide support to clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, and administration skills.
  • Criminal Records Review Act clearance to work with vulnerable adults.

Preferred Skills:

  • A working knowledge of substance addictions, homelessness, and poverty issues.
  • Ability to work in a drug and alcohol-free environment with a zero-tolerance policy.
