Counsellor for Pelvic Pain Management

About the Role
The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) seeks a highly skilled Counsellor to join its team at the Centre for Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis. As a Counsellor, you will provide treatment and case management services to adults with chronic pelvic pain and concurrent mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Perform key duties such as intake, mental health assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and individual and couples counselling.
- Support the team in providing quality client care by sharing your specialized knowledge and expertise.
- Develop and deliver group services to chronic pelvic pain patients, including psychoeducational sessions and support groups.
- Design and deliver individual and couples services using evidence-based interventions for chronic pain populations.
- Identify client goals and expectations, review learning needs, and assist with understanding health issues.
- Consult with healthcare providers and other organizations to coordinate care and services.
- Maintain confidential patient files, documenting contacts and progress notes.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in a related allied health discipline, such as Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.
- Specific training and certification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, pain science, trauma/PTSD, and mindfulness-based therapies.
- Two years of recent experience in community and/or hospital organizations providing treatment services to chronic pain patients.
- Eligibility for membership and registration in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
