Summit, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level environmental professional to join the Corporate Integration & Special Projects (CISP) Division as an Environmental Specialist. This is a full-time field position based out of our Calgary, AB office.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance on spills in various stages of the program, including containment, environmental impact assessments, wildlife and habitat management, and reporting.
- Project Planning: Plan, coordinate, and manage various reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility, and pipeline surface reclamation projects.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor field and office staff as required.
- Data Analysis: Interpret, analyze, and report data.
- Cost Tracking: Maintain detailed and accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Client Relationships: Maintain client relationships and interact with regulatory and third-party stakeholders.
- Health and Safety: Participate in company and client-specific health and safety programs.
- Education: University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience.
- Experience: 5+ years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation.
- Registration: Registration as a member (professional or in-training) in good standing of a recognized applicable Professional Association.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proficient with Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation.
- Teamwork: Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of Alberta and/or Saskatchewan reclamation and remediation guidelines and best practices.
