Overview

The Director of Operational Excellence and Safety will play a critical role in establishing a culture of quality, health, safety, and environmental excellence across the organization. This senior leadership position requires an individual with extensive experience in implementing and leading QHSE initiatives within a multi-site manufacturing environment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $220,000, based on a combination of factors including prior work experience and educational background. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits designed to support the well-being and career development of our employees.

Responsibilities
  • Embed a Culture of Operational Excellence and Safety: Lead the establishment of a culture where Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) are integral to every aspect of our operations.
  • Champion QHSE Initiatives: Act as the primary advocate for QHSE, inspiring a positive and proactive approach to safety, quality, and environmental considerations across the organization.
  • Strategize and Direct QHSE Policies: Plan, develop, and implement QHSE policies, programs, and initiatives that align with industry standards and drive compliance throughout the business.
  • Train and Mentor in QHSE Excellence: Provide guidance, training, and coaching to ensure compliance with QHSE regulations and industry best practices, building a knowledgeable and capable team.
  • Ensure Regulatory and Standards Compliance: Oversee compliance with QHSE standards, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as relevant industry and customer requirements such as UL and CE standards.
  • Enhance Internal QHSE Processes: Support teams in developing and refining internal processes to meet QHSE objectives, continuously improving operational quality and safety standards.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement robust systems for communication, containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement to prevent and address QHSE deficiencies.
  • Lead QHSE Audits and Inquiries: Serve as the main point of contact for QHSE activities, coordinating internal and external audits, and managing client inquiries related to QHSE practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience that equips you for success in this role.
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and leading QHSE initiatives within a multi-site organization, specifically in the manufacturing of electro-mechanical products.
  • Possession of QHSE Management and Lead Quality and/or Safety Auditor Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certification processes within a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of experience in quality management for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects or programs, alongside a track record of developing and implementing programs to enhance supplier quality, including methodologies such as APQP and PPAP.
  • Proven success in managing, interacting with, and negotiating with customers and industry regulators regarding QHSE matters.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a talent for engaging and inspiring employees to participate in QHSE initiatives interactively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required, with travel not expected to exceed 10-20% of the year.
