The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Associate to join our team at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. As an Underwriting Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting our Underwriters in evaluating and managing risk for our clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the insurance industry and want to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As an Underwriting Associate, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions. You will also collaborate with Underwriters to accurately quote and issue policies, and provide account servicing support to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions
• Collaborate with Underwriters to accurately quote and issue policies
• Provide account servicing support to clients
• Support Underwriters in areas of policy rating, subjective pricing, policy construction, coverages & exclusions, mandatory forms, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management or Insurance area
• OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management or Insurance area
• OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management or Insurance area
• AND Knowledge of data collection and analysis Microsoft Office experience

Preferred qualifications include insurance industry knowledge, knowledge of processing, rating and policy management systems used in the insurance industry, strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service experience, detail-oriented, and multi-tasking skills.
