Senior Primary Care Assistant

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Primary Care Assistant to join our Primary Care Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the work of Primary Care Assistants, performing reception duties, managing appointments and schedules, and participating in client care functions.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the work of Primary Care Assistants and provide guidance and support as needed
- Perform reception duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting clients
- Manage appointments and schedules, including booking and canceling appointments, and coordinating with healthcare providers
- Participate in client care functions, including taking medical histories, performing vital signs, and assisting with procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client charts and records
- Perform payroll duties, including time-keeping, recording hours electronically, and investigating discrepancies
- Prepare orders and verify the delivery of supplies and services
- Coding invoices and expense claims, and coordinating routine facility operations
- Three to five years of progressively responsible administrative/clinic experience
- Experience with email and computerized calendars
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience maintaining medical records and filing systems
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Workload coordination and/or supervisory experience an asset
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required
- Successful completion of a Unit Clerk Course and/or a Medical Secretary/Assistant Course required
- Basic Cardiac Life Saving Certificate preferred
- Keyboarding skills 50 wpm required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written)
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills essential
- Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties
- Must be able to do moderate lifting and a moderate amount of walking
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
