Primary Care Assistant

At WRHA Community Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Care Assistant to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Primary Care Assistant will play a vital role in providing exceptional client care and administrative support to our Primary Health Care Team. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage client appointments, schedules, and records
- Provide administrative support to the Primary Health Care Team
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and other professionals
- Ensure clients receive responsiveness, caring, and concern
- Contribute to a respectful, safe, and culturally appropriate work environment
- Minimum of two years related healthcare experience
- Experience in email and computerized calendars
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Keyboarding speed of 40 wpm
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Cultural Safety
- Mental Health First Aid
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of other languages, especially indigenous languages
- Ability to do moderate lifting and walking
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-moving environment
