About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscaping Professional to join our team at St. George's Golf and Country Club. As a key member of our grounds team, you will be responsible for managing landscaping projects, preparing conceptual designs, and ensuring the overall aesthetic appeal of our golf course and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage landscaping projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Design and Planning: Prepare conceptual designs and proposals for landscaping projects, taking into account the unique needs and requirements of our golf course and surrounding areas.
  • Lawn Care and Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, applying fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products as needed.
  • Trees and Shrubs: Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease, and implement treatments to ensure their health and well-being.
  • Plant Knowledge and Identification: Possess a strong understanding of plant knowledge and identification, and be able to provide expert advice on plant selection and care.
  • Computer and Technology Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, with the ability to create detailed designs and plans for landscaping projects.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with other members of the grounds team to ensure seamless project execution, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in landscaping, with a focus on residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Area of Specialization: Landscape design, landscape construction, horticultural consulting, and plant knowledge and identification.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, with a focus on attention to detail, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physical demands.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, and punctuality.
