Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Oversee and manage landscaping projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Design and Planning: Prepare conceptual designs and proposals for landscaping projects, taking into account the unique needs and requirements of our golf course and surrounding areas.
- Lawn Care and Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, applying fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products as needed.
- Trees and Shrubs: Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease, and implement treatments to ensure their health and well-being.
- Plant Knowledge and Identification: Possess a strong understanding of plant knowledge and identification, and be able to provide expert advice on plant selection and care.
- Computer and Technology Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, with the ability to create detailed designs and plans for landscaping projects.
- Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with other members of the grounds team to ensure seamless project execution, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in landscaping, with a focus on residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Area of Specialization: Landscape design, landscape construction, horticultural consulting, and plant knowledge and identification.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, with a focus on attention to detail, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physical demands.
- Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, and punctuality.
