Operational Manager for Recreation Facilities

Company Overview:

The City of Red Deer is seeking a highly skilled Operational Manager for Recreation Facilities to oversee the daily operations of our recreation facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment for users.

Salary:

$34.56 - $36.38 per hour, based on 80 hours biweekly, as schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and shiftwork.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity involves completing assigned work, supervising users in assigned facilities, and performing maintenance duties at the assigned facility. The successful candidate will also be responsible for resurfacing ice, monitoring technical equipment, conducting water tests, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and ice or playing fields, according to established standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12 High School diploma or equivalent
  2. AARFP Building Maintenance Level 1
  3. AARFP Supervisory Skills Level 1 or equivalent
  4. AARFP Arena Operator Level 1 or equivalent
  5. AARFP Swimming Pool Operator Level 1 or equivalent
  6. AARFP Parks and Sportfields Operator Level 1 or equivalent
  7. AARFP Custodial Care or equivalent
  8. Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory and professional experience performing similar work in recreation facilities
  9. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, 'as-builts,' and technical specifications
  10. Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License
  11. Current Standard First Aid and WHMIS
  12. Training in Occupational Health and Safety management systems preferred
  13. Familiar with all safety, fire, building, and other relevant codes
  14. Must be able to be fit tested and successfully wear CSA-approved equipment to meet OH&S requirements
  15. Knowledge and demonstrated competency to work with a variety of Windows-based computer systems, including computer-controlled building management systems
  16. Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (completed by The City upon employment)
