Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 3, Side Loader Refuse vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring timely completion of assigned routes and adherence to company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the side load tandem truck on assigned routes, following all traffic laws and regulations
  • Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
  • Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors to receive delivery instructions and report any issues or concerns
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license with a clear driver abstract
  • Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement in good standing
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Previous waste and recycling experience is an asset
