Waste Management Driver

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Waste Management Driver to join our team at J.S. Bellis Ltd, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies. As a key member of our environmental service team, you will be responsible for operating a Class 3, Side Loader Refuse vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the collection of residential curbside waste in New Brunswick.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a Class 3, Side Loader Refuse vehicle on assigned routes to fill contractual requirements;
  • Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition;
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions;
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors to receive delivery instructions and report any issues;
  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures;
  • Protect and promote the interests of the company by taking actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driver's license with a clear driver abstract;
  • Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement in good standing;
  • Ability to follow a firm work schedule and work in a team environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service;
  • Ability to lift 20-75 pounds on a regular basis and work in a physically demanding environment;
  • Previous waste and recycling experience is an asset, but not required.
