Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and schedule materials along with purchasing of inventory items.
* Provide product availability commitments.
* Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the lowest total cost.
* Ensure the accuracy and impact of planning decisions.
* Liaise with other departments to coordinate product issues.
* Work with new product teams to develop effective product launch plans.
* Effectively manage products with a shelf life to minimize obsolescence.
* Provide planning/schedule commitments and performance reporting.
* Develop and implement planning/purchasing metrics.
* Responsible for the effective and efficient production planning and purchasing activities.
Requirements:
* Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
* SCMP or APICS designation considered an asset.
* 5+ years of procurement experience with a preference for those with an industrial manufacturing background.
* Excellent spreadsheet skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems.
* Understanding of MRP techniques, principles, and concepts.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriately with all levels of the organization.
